One of our support workers, Julie Partington, recently watched a programme about Manchester’s homeless people. This inspired Julie to offer her help, and she found has found a worthy cause to support.

On the 23rd December Julie will be going to Ancoats to help distribute warm clothes, toiletries and food to the homeless community. She has already got her colleagues at Oakdene on board, who are donating items that Julie will deliver on the 12th December. We thought it would be a great idea to extend this to involve our parents and carers in this as we know how supportive the friends and families of Oakdene are.

We would be really grateful if you could donate any spare  items –  here are some useful suggestions:

Pot noodles, Bovril drinks, hats, scarves, gloves, jumpers, coats and shoes, bottled water, blankets.

Julie has spread the word at Oakdene with #Feelinghopeful  and has been overwhelmed with the response and support she has had. We know you will all want to help spread some Christmas cheer at this bitterly cold time of year.

If you have any donations please drop them off at Oakdene between 1st   and 10th  December . Many thanks in advance for your support.
