Oakdene is a vibrant day centre, supporting young people who have a learning disability (aged 18 to 45) providing a friendly, welcoming and stimulating environment.

We have an excellent reputation for delivering an innovative, responsive and flexible service, which enables people supported to have greater choice and say over how they spend their day. Oakdene provides support seven days a week over a twelve hour period each day.

We support people across the whole spectrum of learning disabilities: complex health needs; people who have autism; people who challenge services; and those people with complex physical disabilities. We focus on positive outcomes for everyone and recognise the significance of relationships and support needed to overcome any barriers to inclusion.

Our emphasis is very much about taking a therapeutic approach towards support, and to strengthen this approach we employ a physiotherapist,  have a sensory room and use of the hydrotherapy pool. We provide personal care with a fully adapted bathroom, including tracking hoists and individual bathroom support plans.

Our individual support plans ensure that everyone is valued and is able to make a positive contribution. We pride ourselves on our relationships with parents and carers and work in collaboration with them, as well as professionals from all the authorities who make referrals to us across the whole of Greater Manchester.

We have developed meaningful and positive links with colleges in different authorities and are involved in assessments, reviews and transition visits.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss any care needs you may have, please call us on 0161 220 5840.
